I worked with Mummu on this set of films for Samsung. I was a lead animator and compositor using after effects from illustrations created in Illustrator.
Creative agency, Iris, came back to Mummu following the success of some previous work we had created for them. This time around the brief was to create three ‘How to’ animations explaining the different ways customers could switch from their old iPhone to the new Samsung Galaxy S6 using Smart Switch.
We designed a fun, playful style while remaining informative, to ensure a clear explanation of instructions to the audience. The design of each animation needed to contain the right amount of character and personality, whilst remaining true to the Samsung brand. This was achieved by creating a simplified imitation UI that communicated the core functions, but also housed a moon-walking hand, magic balloon-dog and a rocket!
The motion needed to be eye catching to capture the viewers’ attention and keep them engaged. To do this, Mummu used a variety of different motion techniques such as smooth graphic transitions between devices, charming UI & icon animation and select moments of fun character animation.
